Community Pride Awards and Frodsham Churches Together

The Mayor had a very busy Sunday with his consort Mrs Marjorie Rigby and others presenting the Mayor’s Community Pride Awards and attending an Ecumenical Service for the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity.

The Mayor was assisted by FTC Chair Cllr Judith Critchley, the Deputy Mayor Cllr Alan Oulton, the Junior Mayors, our Freeman Cllr Frank Pennington and our two CWaC Councillors Andrew and Lynn with support of Councillors Michelle Parker, Donna Critchley and Paul Martin.

Helsby Parish Council’s Chair Cllr Terry O’Neill presented the Young Person of the Year Award to Ryan Hall, who lives in Helsby.

There were 30 Community Pride Awards in total, with lots of photos taken – many of which have found their way onto Facebook and Twitter.

The Mayor’s family provided the buffet, Frodsham Sings entertained and Kash 22 opened for refreshments.

With a raffle and donations, the Mayor raised £200 for his charities, St Laurence Church Restoration and Frodsham Community Centre.

Then the Mayor and his Consort together with Frodsham’s CWaC councillors went to St Laurence Church for the Churches Together Cheshire Service, attended by two bishops and the hierarchy of the rest of the churches in Frodsham.

The Mayor said:

St Laurence’s and Fr Micheal, you did us proud!

We will be posting a full list of all the award winners shortly.
