Condolences to Orlando

The Mayor, Cllr Mallie Poulton wished to express his sorrow at the atrocious event that took place in Orlando, Florida and has sent the following message of condolence, on behalf of Frodsham Town Council and the people of Frodsham:

We very much wanted you to know that our prayers and thoughts are with you all at this terrible time.  Our hearts are heavy and our eyes are filled with tears for you and your community.

We stand with you, not just for your GLBT community, but for all who suffer at the hands of others.  We must not let these bigots terrorise any community.

We have candles lit and many prayers have been said.

God bless the people of Orlando and the USA.

With very best wishes from

Cllr Mallie Poulton

We received the following message back from the Mayor of Orlando, Mr Buddy Dyer:

Dear Mayor Poulton,

Thank you for your kind words of support. Sunday was the most horrific day in the history of the City of Orlando. And yet, today I am even more proud of our community because they came together, united to support the families and friends of the victims.

We learned of the heroic acts of our Orlando Police Department and other law enforcement, as well as our citizens as hundreds of lives were saved throughout the night. The medical personnel that saved so many lives that were transported to the hospital are heroes.

I am proud of how our City has responded to this tragedy and the dedication our City continues to show.

We will not be defined by the act of a cowardly hater. We will be defined by how we respond, how we treat each other.

Buddy Dyer
