The Mayor’s busy weekend

The Mayor, his consorts and Junior Mayors and families had a very busy weekend.

It started off with the Freeman of Frodsham ceremony for Father Micheal Mills of St Laurence’s Church, which the Mayor attended with  his Consort Mrs Betty Rutter. Thanks to everyone who made this special night.

Mallie also presented the Mayor’s Special Award to Cllr Fran Sutton and her family for all the unpaid work they do, saving our council thousands of pounds, and gave a birthday bouquet to one of his consorts and church warden Mrs Ann Parker.

The Mayor spent Saturday with his consorts and Junior Mayors and their families to thank them for their hard work. He was pleased to take donations off those present for his charities instead of receiving personal gifts.

Sunday started with the Mayor thanking the congregation of St Laurence’s for their part in Friday night’s celebrations and for the response to his Mayor’s Appeal for the Homeless.

Then it was up to the memorial gates for what Mallie hopes will become another tradition for Frodsham. He hung a wreath of Christmas Memories as did the Junior Mayors Jack and Lily, his consort for the day Mrs Marjorie Rigby, and the Junior Mayors’ families.

Lastly, Lily and Mallie had been asked to read at the Methodist Church Christmas Carol Service. This they did happily, accompanied by Jack, Marjorie and the Junior Mayors’ families.
