New Year engagements for the Mayor

The Mayor was back in earnest yesterday, Monday, as he welcomed a new business on Church Street, and met the Mayor of Maghull in Sefton, Councillor June Burn and her son and Consort Josh.

The new coffee shop is called Brew and Tucker. Costa (yes that’s his real name) comes from Australia and has set up the business with his partner who originates from Frodsham. They met working in Oz and now settled here.

The Mayor said:

They have some quirky ideas and opening times – give them a go, they’re the small independent traders we need. The coffee’s good, but give them time and patience – there could be teething problem with a new building being used for first time for this type of business. Upstairs is to open, but for the likes of me all facilities are on ground floor. The Chair Cllr Judith Critchley and I gave them a royal Frodsham welcome.

Next was the Mayor’s first meet and greet of the year with the Mayor of Maghull and her consort, Councillors June and Josh Burn.

Mallie said:

Not the first time I have met this mum and son combo and what a smashing couple there are, and certainly a credit to their Council. I will see them soon as I go to rhe Lord Mayor of Sefton’s Ball, and they return to Frodsham for mine, and for my St George’s Day service.
