Frodsham Town Council Chair Cllr Judith Critchley was last night elected to the Executive Board of the Cheshire Association of Local Councils (ChALC) at their Annual General Meeting.
Judith joins two councillors from neighbouring Helsby Parish Council (Cllrs Stuart Hulse and Terry O’Neill) on the Board.
ChALC represents and promotes the interests of Local Councils in Cheshire through support, information and training.
Waterside Councillor Mallie Poulton, one of Frodsham’s delegates at the AGM, said:
This is a great achievement for Judith, who is now in her third year as Chair of the Town Council, having first taken on that role only a few weeks after being elected unopposed to Frodsham Lakeside Ward. Judith will bring her usual style and expertise to the role at ChALC.
Last night’s AGM saw Frodsham Town Council’s delegates vote for:
- Stronger measures to uphold the Councillors Code of Conduct
- To support the campaign to reopen the Sandbach to Northwich rail line
- To ask Cheshire West & Chester Council to devolve responsibility and funding to local councils to trim growth and keep road signs legible, since overgrown signs are causing road safety concerns in many areas.
