Frodsham Youth Club volunteer James Davenport was one of three West Cheshire young people to receive the Young Person Volunteer of the Year on Thursday night as part of the West Cheshire Youth and Community Awards 2018.
The award recognised James for his voluntary work at Frodsham Youth Association and acknowledged the fact that he and the other award winners give up their time to help and do things for others, despite the pressures young people have with schools and friendships.
James originally started volunteering as part of his Duke of Edinburgh Award but he has carried on and built up a rapport with the young people who attend the junior group, bringing a new approach to sports at the club.
In nominating James for the award, Gaz Saunders of Frodsham Youth Association said that James “fully deserves to win due to his hard work, commitment and ongoing passion towards the club
and young people.”
