Mayor presents grant cheques

At its meeting on 24 September Frodsham Mayor Cllr Lord Frank Pennington presented cheques to five local community groups who had successfully applied for funding from Frodsham Town Council’s 2018 Grant Scheme.

Frodsham Silver Band was awarded £500 to support the recruitment of a new training band. If sufficient Frodsham people are recruited the band will be invited apply again for further funding for equipment and uniforms next year.

North Cheshire Rail Users Group received £200 towards the celebrations of the opening of new train services on the Halton Curve which will link Frodsham directly to Runcorn and Liverpool.

Frodsham & District Photographic Society was granted £500 towards the cost of a new laptop for use in club presentations and competitions.

The What’s Cooking Frodsham Group got £400 to buy cooking equipment for its work encouraging people over 50 at risk of social isolation to cook healthy meals.

Overton Memorial Hall Recreation Club received £700 towards the cost of repainting and repairing its bowls pavilion.

Mersey Weaver District Scouts will collect their grant towards the cost of sending local Scouts and leaders to the World Scout Jamboree at a later meeting.
