The Royal British Legion Community Fundraiser for West Cheshire Ruth Jones says, “The Poppy Appeal in Frodsham has been hugely successful and in the past 5 years has raised around £50,000. This is due to the huge efforts of local volunteers and Poppy Appeal Organisers Geoff Abnett and more recently Tracey Footit. We are also hugely grateful to Brio Leisure Centre who have given us free storage and support over the years and members of the local WI who have collected money at Morrisons and helped distribute the boxes. Last year the appeal brought in a total of £8,003.43 and the Village laid Poppy Wreaths at the Memorial on Remembrance Day. We would love to build on the positive relationships that have been made with Frodsham.
“However, due to work commitments Tracey has now had to step down from her role and so we have a vacancy for the a new Poppy Appeal Organiser for Frodsham. Should this appeal for a suitable person not be successful it maybe that Poppies and Wreaths will not be available in the Village this year.”
