Frodsham Town Council will be postponing celebrations of the 75th anniversary of VE Day in the light of the current coronavirus situation.
Chair of the FTC Events Committee Cllr Mallie Poulton says:
After careful consideration and long debate we have reluctantly decided to postpone our VE Celebrations earmarked for the weekend 8/9/10 May 2020. The Events Committee took advice and, in the interest of our residents, we opted for postponement.
We are hoping to fix a new date for a new date in September: we considered moving it to the Summer bank holiday, but looking into it, this would clash with planned and annual events.
We can only apologise to all who have put in so much time and effort in the working group. One person stand out as she has had such an input. So big thanks to Michelle McNulty and all who served as members of the group. I hope they will continue to serve on our working group. Special thanks also to Ryan and all at The Queens Head for hosting and feeding us.
Also please WI, keep sewing the bunting – our community will get a lot of use out of it!
So no more meetings till further notice, and as soon as we can we will make alternative arrangements.
