Police & Crime Commissioner for Cheshire, John Dwyer, and Chief Constable, Mark Roberts, are inviting people to apply to join their Independent Ethics Panel.
The Panel will look at ethical issues within the police service to inform the work of the Commissioner, and will help to ensure transparent working across the Constabulary.
It will consider issues such as:
- Workforce statistics (diversity issues)
- Stop and search
- Use of force
- Hate crime
- Complaints
- Custody visiting statistics
- Vetting
Improving public confidence in policing is a key priority in the Police and Crime Plan, and the Commissioner and Chief Constable are determined for the police to work with the public openly and transparently to build trust.
The Panel will only be at its most effective if it is truly representative of Cheshire’s communities, so please take a look at the role profile to ensure your voice is heard.
Applications will close on 28 April. More information about the role and how to apply can be found at: https://www.cheshire-pcc.gov.uk/get-involved/volunteering/volunteering-vacancies/ethics-panel-volunteer/
