Commemorating D-Day 80th Anniversary

On Thursday 6th June 2024 Frodsham Town Council will host a commemorative event at Frodsham War Memorial at 8.30 pm to mark the largest naval, air and land operation in history: the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings on the beaches of Normandy.

On Thursday 6th June 2024 Frodsham Town Council will host a commemorative event at Frodsham War Memorial at 8.30 pm to mark the largest naval, air and land operation in history: the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings on the beaches of Normandy.

  • The event will begin at 8.45 pm with a greeting and welcome message from Councillor Helen Hayes.
  • The reciting of a poem ‘D-Day Heroes’ written by Chelsea Pensioner and Herald Roy Palmer
  • Followed by the reading of ‘The International Tribute’
  • and the lighting of 4 lamp lights of peace at 9.15 pm at each corner of the monument
