It was with great pleasure that I attended The Lord Mayor and The Sheriff of Nottingham’s induction ceremony at The Council House Nottingham and afterwards at Nottingham Castle. I exchanged gifts and was greeted by The High Sheriff. It’s always a pleasure to meet other Civics and exchange ideas and invites.
This done I traveled back to open The Rotary and Community Centre’s popular event ‘Festival in the Park’ and the finishing line for the Downhill Run – another success story.
Helsby High School
I invited the new Head Boy and Girl of Helsby High School for a Coffee and chat together with our Chair Cllr Judith Critchley. We talked about how we could have a closer relationship with the School as we are the main feeder Town. I presented them with a Bee Pin and a necklace as a mark of their visit; the first of many I hope.
My last duty before leaving on holiday was to visit Helsby High School’s Art Festival – wow our young people have great TALENT – I was blown away. I also met very enthusiastic Teachers, Students and parents alike. Frodsham’s safe in their hands.
County Kerry, Ireland
Off to Ireland still promoting our Town and County. I made time to meet Mayor Cllr John Francis Flynn, the youngest ever Mayor of West Kerry at 26, and presented him with a bee pin. I also met with the Mayor of Killorglin Helen O’Shea and presented her with a bee soap hand made locally by The Little Brown Dog Co. I attended a council meeting and have been asked to return in October to talk about tourism and marketing. A group will be coming over in November for a Mayor fund raiser and next year to the Mayors Ball.
Now back in Frodsham and rested I have a full Calendar and will start my fund raising in earnest.
