Chester University visit for Mayor

On Monday the Mayor was the lunch guest of the Vice Chancellor and Principal of University of Chester, Professor Tim Wheeler, who happens to also live in Frodsham.

They exchanged gifts and the Vice Chancellor showed the Mayor the University’s wonderful Chapel, with its famous paintings. The chapel was built by students of the then college in the mid nineteenth century, who helped to quarry and carve the stone, to carve the woodwork, and to work with the stained glass.

The Mayor was then taken to the Countess of Chester where he visited a member of St Laurence’s choir and then popped in on the Stroke Ward, which is close to the Mayor’s heart.
