Manley Road Copse Work Party

Cllr Alan Oulton, Frodsham Mayor and Chair of the Town Council’s Environment Committee, says:

A big thanks to the small team who braved the snow on Saturday 17th March, to help me at a community event at Manley Road Copse.

The team was:

  • my fellow councillor Liam Jones
  • Town Council Estate Manager Lionel Rimmer
  • Joe Beswick (Environmemt Committee resident member)
  • local resident Gary Berthels

Gary has been instrumental in saving the bench on the site.

We cleared a lot of stunted and tangled holly trees to make way for future planting of native species. We have had trees given to us by the Woodland Trust.

Thanks also to Shades of Green Ltd for the hire of a chipper at a greatly reduced rate.

NB: I am a City & Guilds trainer and assessor for the land based sector. All legislation was adhered to, in particular the Management of Health & Safety Regulations (risk assessments) and “PUWER 98′.

A survey prior to the task was completed to ensure no habitat was compromised.
