Elecia Snelson became the first ever member of Frodsham Youth Association to achieve the prestigious Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award, receiving her certificate at St James’s Palace on 17 May 2018.
Youth leader Nicola Mikoleizik said: “Everyone at the club is very proud of her and FYA members Joe Berthels and Ed Webber, who will receive their awards in July at Holyrood.”
Overton and Five Crosses town councillor Liam Jones said: “As Frodsham Town Council’s representative for Frodsham Youth Association, this is an incredible achievement for Elecia and will be for Joe, Ed and the youth club too. I’d like to congratulate them on their hard work and effort for completing it. This club is truly going from strength to strength, and it is here in Frodsham thanks to the support from the community and hard work by the volunteers and staff that run the club, without whom none of this would happen. Last month we also saw James Davenport win “Volunteer of the year” at West Cheshire Youth Community Awards, again something we can all be proud of.”
