What’s On @ Castle Park Arts Centre June – August 2019

whats on at castle park arts centre june august 2019

Gallery 1, 2 and Link – The Davies Family – Family Visions

A joint exhibition featuring the work of 5 artists from 2 generations of the same Welsh family. The artists Gareth, Diana, Glyn, Simon & Jani use different media including sculpture, painting, drawing, photography to express ideas, emotions & observations.

Gallery 3 – Philip Westcott – People & Places

Philip Westcott – People & Places. Recently I’ve focussed on individuals using a modern medium drawing on a tablet with a stylus & painting these images on Aluminium. My other interest is the Northwest Landscapes where I focus on the hidden view rather than large panoramas.

An accumulation of past 3 years work, the compositions capture indiscriminate figures painting them loosely to merge into the scene, then highlight with glimpses of colour to give the impression of a fast-paced lifestyle. My Northwest landscapes complete in oil and using a palette knife give me a freedom & spontaneity that appeals to me.
