Frodsham Town Council Winter Gritting Scheme 2024/25

Frodsham Town Council runs a Winter Gritting Scheme each year providing de-icing grit to registered Community Volunteers willing to spread the grit on pavements and footpaths near to where they live.

Volunteers who register on the scheme will get one or two bags of salt delivered to their home on a scheduled date.

(volunteers do not need to be home when the delivery is made.  The bags of grit will be delivered as close as possible to your property).

Further deliveries will be arranged later in the year to replenish supplies if we have a hard winter.

The grit is only to be used on pavements and footpaths – it is NOT for use on volunteers own drives or public roads.

Full guidelines are provided below.

We have emailed last years’ volunteers to ask if they still wish to be involved, but we are also looking for new volunteers.

If you would like to become a Community Volunteer Gritter in your area, please download and fill in the form below, stating clearly the area you are prepared to grit and return your completed form to council@frodsham.gov.uk

If returning your form by hand to our office in Castle Park House, just pop it in the mail box located inside the front porch to the right hand side, clearly marked ‘Frodsham Town Council’.
