Castle Park came Alive in June with Frodsham’s first Food & Drink Festival

Castle Park was buzzing with energy on Saturday 14th June, as Frodsham Town Council hosted its very first Food & Drink Festival – a celebration of flavours, fun, and community spirit.

The park was alive with foodies and drink lovers from across the region, all eager to explore the wide array of artisan food and drink stalls, offering everything from street food favourites to local delicacies and unique beverages. Whether visitors were in the mood for something sweet, spicy, savoury, or refreshing, there was something to suit every palate.

One of the highlights of the day was the thrilling Man vs Food competition, which saw brave contestants face off in an epic pie-eating battle. Each participant was challenged to devour a giant, handmade pie, generously filled and baked by a local butcher. Cheered on by an enthusiastic audience, the contestants battled their way through buttery pastry and hearty fillings – some with impressive determination, others with a bit more struggle and laughter! In the end, one triumphant eater was crowned the Pie Champion of 2025, earning both bragging rights and a very full stomach.

The festival marquee became a hub of activity with live cooking demonstrations from local chefs and food experts, sharing tips, tricks, and mouth-watering inspiration. Meanwhile, the sounds of live music and entertainment filled the air, adding to the upbeat festival atmosphere.

Families enjoyed a fun-filled day, with the chance to get involved in a session of fitness training in the marquee – for those who could manage it after having their fill of food and drink, and there was plenty to keep the little ones entertained – including a selection of fairground rides and children’s attractions, making it a great day out for all ages.

Thank you to everyone who came along and made the event such a success, there were too many to mention, but a special thank you to the many marquee demonstrators and the supplier of the pies for the competition, who all kept the audience well and truly interested and entertained.

We look forward to welcoming you back to Castle Park for more fantastic community events in the future!
