COMMUNITY DAY & OPEN ART STUDIOS
We would like to thank everyone who took part, helped, visited, made donations, and gave us kind words about what the centre means to them. We had a great day and it sounds like many of you did too. If we didn’t get around to chatting to you, we would still like to hear your stories of how you discovered the Arts Centre, and what you think of it. PORTRAIT ARTIST COMPETITION
|

PORTRAIT ARTIST COMPETITION
We are very close to holding our live Portrait Artist of Castle Park competition. We will be doing a special Sunday opening to host our 2 celebrity sitters, dramatist Tim Firthand author Mick Flaherty and the 12 accomplished artists who are each hoping to win the £250 cash prize!
The galleries will be open to view the artists as they work from 10:15am and the cafe will be open too, so grab a coffee and watch it all unfold!

Tim Firth was born in Frodsham and is an award-winning playwright, screenwriter and composer. A member of the Cambridge Footlights, whose works include Calendar Girls, Kinky Boots & The Flint Street Nativity.
Mick Flaherty is a former British Army Serviceman, who served for more than 30 years. Now a Frodsham local, he writes comedy, satire and short mystery fiction – including the bestselling Frodsham Files books and the Frodsham Whodunnits series.

CHRISTMAS CARD COMPETITION
|
|
|
Our 2026 Christmas Card Competition is open for entries until 25th September
Anyone can enter, and all we ask is that your design is festive and gives a nod to our Arts Centre or the local community. Works must be created by you, no AI please!
A shortlist of images will be voted on by our social media following to decide the winner which will be used on our very own Christmas Card for 2026.

|
|
|
This year we will be taking part in the Over 70s Christmas Voucher scheme run by Frodsham Town Council. Those eligible will have £15 to spend or donate to the local economy. Applications must be in by 30th October so head on over to their website or pick up an application form from our cafe.

|
|
|
|
Our next set of exhibitions are on from 22nd September to the 31st October.
Meet the Artist Open Evening is on Friday 25th September, 7 to 9 pm.

Castle Park Arts Centre is run largely by dedicated volunteers who give their time, skills and enthusiasm to keep this place thriving. We rely on our volunteer team for everything from staffing the galleries and hanging exhibitions to helping at events and supporting the café.
|
|
|
Here is an update on some of the work our gardeners have undertaken this last 6 weeks.

If you have some spare time and would like to join our team of volunteers (not just gardening), do get in touch. No experience in the arts is needed — just a friendly manner, reliability and a willingness to help. We’ll train you, support you and make sure you feel part of our community from day one.

It compliments my life. I tend to visit two mornings a week, I always leave pleased that I have been there.
Although I am a very busy person with lots of demands on my time I always leave the Art Centre feeling
relaxed and part of a great community. The staff and many volunteers are so appreciated.
