Picnic in the Park 2026 – A Great Afternoon Despite the Rain!
Frodsham Town Council’s Picnic in the Park returned to Castle Park on Saturday 29 August, bringing families, friends and the local community together for an afternoon of entertainment, activities and plenty of fun.
Although the weather was certainly not what we had hoped for, with rain making an appearance throughout the afternoon, it didn’t stop people from coming along and enjoying themselves. Umbrellas and waterproofs were very much the order of the day, but the smiles and good humour remained!
There was something for everyone, with live music, bouncy castles, face painting, sports activities, games and challenges taking place throughout the afternoon. Halton & Frodsham Harriers provided a fantastic range of fun sports activities, while the Girl Guides brought along their fete games for visitors to enjoy and The Curious Cat Bookshop provided a quiet reading corner for avid young bookworms and their parents to enjoy a favourite book together.
Our live music programme also proved popular, with performances from Mr & Mischief, 2AM and The Kitchen Party, who helped create a fantastic atmosphere despite the changeable conditions.
A Pawsome Afternoon!
One of the highlights of the afternoon was the popular Fun Dog Show, organised by Tail Mates and Bindi’s Lost and Found Pets, with plenty of four-legged friends taking part.
From beautifully behaved pooches to some rather entertaining tricks, the dogs certainly brought plenty of smiles to the event. It was wonderful to see so many owners joining in and enjoying the fun with their furry companions.

Events like Picnic in the Park are all about bringing our community together, and despite the rain, it was lovely to see people continuing to support the event and making the most of the afternoon.
