1.     Apologies and reasons for absence

To receive apologies and approve reasons for absence from members.

2.     Declarations of interest

To note any declarations of interest on items which are on the agenda.

3.     Suspending Standing Orders

To note Standing Orders require that any suspension be approved by resolution of the meeting, in  accordance with Standing Orders 1(r)(ix) and 25(a). This process will apply to all items other than agenda item 4.

4.     Public participation

5.     Approval of minutes

To approve the minutes from the Amenities & Planning Committee Meeting held 9th February 2026.

(a) To receive a report from Cllr Critchley following the meeting attended by Cllrs J Critchley, Holman and Lofts.

(b) To agree action to be taken

10.  Tree Planting Policy

To consider the policy, provided by the Town Clerk.

11.  Planters

(a) To note that planters at the town entrance were first discussed on 10 March 2025 (Minute Ref: 10/03/2025/13), when the Town Clerk was instructed to apply to Cheshire West and Chester Council for street furniture but was advised, by CWAC, that a full specification was required before the application could be considered, and that the matter was discussed again on 14 April 2025 (Minute Ref: 14/04/2025/13b), when Cllr Hayes agreed to investigate further.

(b) To note that a quotation has been received for two sizes of planters, both acceptable to CWAC, at a cost of £825 for 3 x 1000mm planters or £925 for 3 x 1270mm planters.

(c) To note that Cheshire West and Chester Council charges a Street Furniture and Planting Licence fee of £258 per item for permission to place planters, benches or other street furniture on the highway; this fee is non-refundable.

(d)   To consider whether the funding should be allocated from the Amenities Committee street furniture budget for 2026–27 (£2,000), from the Civic Pride budget (£10,000) administered by Full Council or from a combination.

(e)   To agree action to be taken
