Are you interested in local wildlife? Do you have some spare time to volunteer? Enjoy being outdoors and want to take part in a variety of practical tasks?
If the answer is yes to any of these questions then Cheshire Wildlife Trust needs you to come and help out with local conservation projects.
Beth Alvey, Volunteering Manager at Cheshire Wildlife Trust, explains:
We manage a variety of reserves in the local area but are reliant on volunteers to help us with this practical habitat management.
We’d really love for the areas to develop and flourish even further as part of our Heritage Lottery Fund Natural Futures project which is why we’re calling for others to come and join our green-fingered helpers and give us some extra help.
The setting is stunning – it is the most amazing place to come to volunteer!”
Volunteers do not need any previous experience or any specific tools, all training will be given, you just need a willingness to get stuck in.
Beth added :
This is the perfect place to learn new skills from each other, plus, there are known health benefits to being out in the countryside and working with nature.”
Conservation volunteers will meet on a variety of days throughout the year in your local area, visit www.cheshirewildlifetrust.org.uk or call 01948 820728 to find out more. There you can complete a registration form and get started.
About Cheshire Wildlife Trust
Cheshire Wildlife Trust Natural Futures is an ambitious new volunteering programme, taking place across the Cheshire region, Stockport and Wirral this September. Thanks to support from a Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) grant of £706,400, over the next four years the Trust will be making a £1.2million investment in volunteering that will shape the county’s wildlife and natural spaces for the better.
Ambitious in scale, the project’s aim is actually very simple – let’s get more people doing more for nature in Cheshire.
