The role
We need someone to handle banking, book-keeping and record-keeping, and take a supporting role in general financial oversight.
This will involve:
- Use the HMRC payroll software to prepare the payroll from monthly “hours worked” report from the senior youth worker including producing payslips and making payments.
- Pay invoices
- Receive payments (cash and cheques) although most payments are now madeelectronically.
- Bank cheques and cash
- Monthly bank reconciliation and updating of accounts
- Monthly reconciliation of petty cash and cash accountsThe charity banks with the Co-op and makes use of electronic banking for payments. The charity’s accounts are kept on a spreadsheet and are updated monthly.
The time commitment for this role will vary, but on average it will be a couple of hours per week. The exact timings will depend on the nature of work taking place but there is potential for flexibility, to suit you.
This role may require occasional use of personal phone and internet services. We are unable to reimburse expenses.
About you
This role would be perfect for someone who has book keeping or accountancy experience, however if you are confident with numbers and have a systematic and organised approach, with good IT literacy, get in touch!
