Frodsham Women’s Voluntary Work Recognised

Frodsham was honoured not just once but three times in the High Sheriff of Cheshire’s Awards last night.

These prestigious awards celebrate the contribution made to our county by volunteers and those who commit their time and energy to improving and sustaining our communities.

Frodsham Mayor Cllr Mallie Poulton learned of the awards when he hosted hosting the High Sheriff on a visit to Frodsham earlier in the year, and he nominated the three Frodsham women who were recognised last night:

  • Mrs Pauline Sharpe
  • Mrs Chris Wilding
  • Mrs Dawn Oultram

Pauline and Chris collected their awards at the University of Chester ceremony. Dawn could not be there, so Frodsham Town Council Chair Cllr Judith Critchley accepted the award on her behalf.

Mallie said

A massive congratulations to all three ladies, you epitomise the deep sense of community pride in Frodsham. I’m also pleased because two of these ladies have been my Consorts during my time as Mayor.
