Frodsham Town Councillor Liam Jones met Santa at Frodsham Youth Association’s Christmas Mini-Market last Saturday.
Cllr Jones, who represents the Town Council on the Youth Association’s management committee, says:
Not only cakes, cards and electronics were available at the mini-market, there was even a chance to sit on Santa’s knee and tell him what you’d like for Christmas. Thankfully for me this was open to all ages!
This is more than a market, it enables youngsters to think outside the box, to come up with an idea that they think could work on the market, such as creating cards, baking gluten-free cakes, making youngsters think of their target audience, marketing, people skills, business skills – balancing overheads with profit and breaking even. As well as learning the value of money which in turn helps towards creating a more sustainable club, as some of the funds raised from the market not only go to the young stall holders, but also towards the costs of running the club.
