Prize shooters

The two winners of the Frodsham Festival of Walks photo competition received their prizes recently.

Jennifer Wilcock’s super phone shot of her daughter running through the grass at Cheshire Wildlife Trust’s Gowy Meadows won first prize, with Jackie Keasley’s gorgeous photo of the River Weaver coming in a close second.

The winning images were selected by the Frodsham U3A Photography Group from a shortlist of 30 photos posted on the Festival of Walks Facebook page or emailed to the Town Council. It was a hard job choosing just two from so many great pictures.

Jennifer’s prize was a place at a Welshot Photographic Academy workshop. She picked an evening dedicated to recreating classic Vogue covers from the past.

Jackie’s prize was a canvas print from Boots Frodsham of one of her photos. She chose to print a fabulous shot of the Northern Lights she took on a recent trip to the Lofoten Islands in Norway.

Congratulations to Jennifer, Jackie and the other photographers for their great pictures of the Festival of Walks – look out for some of them in the publicity material for next year’s Festival.

Finally, a big thank you to Lee at Welshot and Donna at Boots Frodsham for generously donating the prizes, and to the U3A photographers for choosing the winners.
