Words and Music to Commemorate the Armistice

Commemorate the centenary of the Armistice at this concert on at 7.30pm on Saturday 10th November, 2018 at St Laurence’s Church, Frodsham.

We begin our journey with quintessentially British music of the last century. For our concert on November 10th, “We will Remember Them”, through the music of Elgar, Vaughan Williams, Paul Mealor, Karl Jenkins and, from across the pond, music from, “Saving Private Ryan” by John Williams. It is intended to be a particularly poignant and fitting tribute to the end of The First World War commemorations, taking place on the eve of the Armistice, itself.

The Choral Society are to be joined by members of Frodsham Players who will incorporate readings to complement the musical offerings which are rich and varied.

Sue Marrs, a great friend of the choir, will perform with the choir and include, as part of her contribution, “Dido’s Lament” by Purcell as well as “We’ll Gather Lilacs” by Ivor Novello. We will also include The Last Post being sounded.

Tickets £10, under 16s free – Dandelion, 19 Church Street, Frodsham; Tilly Patel 07971 606409, Morag Bragger 07845 730061.
