Frodsham Juniors FC recently hosted its fourth annual inter-school football tournament featuring over 180 children, in 20 teams from 13 local primary schools.
Organised and run buy Frodsham JFC’s volunteer coaches in partnership with Cheshire Oaks School Sports Partnership, the day long tournament held at Frodsham Leisure Centre was divided in to two sections.
In the morning Frodsham Manor House emerged as champions in the year 3-4 boys and girls competition, with Hornsmill winning the afternoon tournament for year 5-6 boys and girls.
Frodsham JFC’s Schools Liaison Officer Joe Bell, who helped to set up and run the event commented:
“We would like to thank Cheshire Oaks School Sports Partnership and all the schools who took part for their support. Now in its Fourth year the annual tournament is proving as popular as ever. As a Club we are dedicated to providing footballing opportunities for as many local children as possible. Hosting events such as the inter-schools tournament gives children not currently playing for Frodsham JFC the chance to enjoy football in an organised and safe environment. We would also like to congratulate all the players whose efforts, enthusiasm and sportsmanship made the tournament such a great event.”
The full list of schools competing was Ashton Hayes, Elton CP, Frodsham CE, Frodsham Manor House, Frodsham Weaver Vale, Horn’s Mill, Kingsley CP, Little Sutton CE, Meadow CP, Our Lady Star of the Sea RC, Parklands CP and St Luke’s RC primary schools.
