At its budget-setting meeting held on 13th January 2020 Frodsham Town Council agreed to reduce the Precept for next financial year by 14.8%.
This decrease will be reflected in the Council tax demands issued by Cheshire West and Chester Council in April 2020. The reduction represents an average Band D charge of £62 per year and a saving of £10.78 per year on the previous years’ request.
The Town Council’s budget for 2020/21 was unanimously set at £259,383 and the Precept request was agreed at £229,679. The difference between the budget and precept will be met from general reserves.
The Precept was increased in 2019-2020 due to the refurbishment of the war memorial and extension to the burial ground. Both projects are due to be completed in the next couple of weeks.
For a breakdown of the budget for the coming financial year please see the minutes of the meeting held on 13th January 2020.
