Parliamentary Boundary Change Proposals

The Boundary Commission for England is consulting on its draft proposals for a new constituency for Frodsham to replace Weaver Vale, which is set to disappear from 2023.

One of the main objectives of the review is to ensure that every recommended constituency has an electorate of roughly equal size. The initial proposals have been presented and key stakeholders and residents are invited to give their views by Tuesday 2nd August 2021.

Maps and details on how to submit a response are available here.

Under the proposals, Frodsham would become part of a constituency provisionally called “Runcorn and Helsby”, together with parts of Halton south of the Mersey, Helsby, Ince, Mickle Trafford and Guilden Sutton.

There will be further rounds of consultation before the Boundary Commission submits a formal final report to the Speaker of the House of Commons before 1 July 2023..
