8.    20 MPH Church Street

The Clerk has confirmed with CWAC Highways that there have been no updates to the report issued by Cheshire West and Chester Council (CWAC) on 5th March 2024, which recommended the implementation of a 20 MPH speed limit on sections of Church Street. No additional surveys have been conducted since the installation of the new crossing in 2025.

9.    Green Gates Community Park

(a) It is recommended that the most cost-effective approach to restore the park to standard involves two workers on-site for a full week. The proposed work includes applying the previously discussed pellet-form weedkiller, which becomes safe for animals within an hour of drying. All paths will be strimmed to their original edges, dead shrubs removed, and remaining ones pruned or topped as needed. Grass seeding will be scheduled for a more suitable time of year. Wildflower areas will be cut back and prepared for the next season, and designated wild spaces will receive a light tidy to preserve their natural character. Upon completion, the park should be in a well-maintained state, allowing FTC to consider adding further tasks to the SLA.

(b) To consider the quotation received for the above works to be considered as a one-off addition to the current SLA.

Quotation

(c) To note that the Clerk has followed up with the suppliers of the climbing rope to request a replacement under warranty. The suppliers provided evidence of melted plastic on the damaged sections, indicating the issue is likely due to vandalism rather than a manufacturing fault. While the ropes are not currently considered dangerous, they will require ongoing monitoring. The Clerk has also obtained a replacement quote, totalling £1,818.

(d) To agree any further actions to be taken.

10.  Christmas lights
