Mayor hands over grant cheque to Youth Association

Frodsham Mayor Councillor Alan Oulton attended Frodsham Youth Association’s annual meeting and silver Duke of Edinburgh awards presentation evening last week.

Cllr Oulton handed over a cheque for £8,000 – the Town Council’s grant to FYA.

FYA Chair Sian Day said:

“We’re so grateful for the continued support of Frodsham Town Council. This money helps to cover our core costs which means we can focus our fundraising efforts to support a wide range of engaging and supportive activities. This currently includes a music group, Duke of Edinburgh, a monthly teenage market, an LGBT group as well as giving young people a safe place to come and have fun with their friends.

“Against a background of cuts to the youth sector, Frodsham Youth Association continues to grow and we have lots more plans for the future. As a charity we rely on the support of the local community and donations like this one to make this happen.”
