Some of Frodsham and Helsby’s car park systems will change later this month and Cheshire West and Chester Council is ensuring that all Blue Badge holders will still be able to park for four hours free.
Badge holders will benefit from four hours’ free parking at Moor Lane (Frodsham) and Station Avenue (Helsby) by displaying a valid badge and time clock.
At Frodsham Station, four hours’ free parking will be available thanks to a special microchip sticker. In order to qualify for this offer blue badge holders will be required to obtain a free sticker, containing an electronic chip, to attach to the badge itself.
The application form is online on the Council’s website at: https://www.cheshirewestandchester.gov.uk/residents/transport-and-roads/parking-and-permits/car-parks-in-west-cheshire.aspx and the chips can be collected from Frodsham library.
On arrival at the car park the chip attached to the blue badge can be presented at the entrance and exit barriers to allow entry and exit within four hours. Parking over four hours will require a payment and charges are shown on signage within each car park.
New charges and length of stay restrictions are planned to come into effect in Frodsham and Helsby on Wednesday, 31 July 2019.
Anyone with questions about the new arrangements for car parking in Frodsham and the stickers for Blue Badge holders can call into two drop-in sessions which have been arranged on the following dates:
- Wednesday 10 July at 12pm to 2.30pm – Frodsham Library
- Monday 15 July at 4pm to 7pm – Frodsham Leisure Centre
If you have any questions about the new parking arrangements or blue badge stickers, Council officers will be happy to speak to you at these informal drop-in sessions.
The Council’s Cabinet Member for Environment, Highways and Strategic Transport, Councillor Karen Shore said: “Cheshire West and Chester Council takes pride in access to facilities for disabled people in our borough. The Council was one of the first in the country to offer this facility to blue badge holders for the pay on exit car parks in Chester.
“Our officers will be happy to talk to anyone with questions about the new car parking and Blue Badge arrangements at the two drop-in sessions in the town. No appointment is needed, just pop in.”
